Books are an essential tool for the teacher. Whether you want to learn more about a new teaching theory, a better well to handle discipline in your classroom, or  you are looking for material to teach the planets, there are books available to help you. Of course you also need a good selection of books for children. As a new teacher I depended heavily on "The First Days of School" by Harry Wong. My other favorite, and a book I still use today, is "Caught'ya" by Jane Bell Kiester. Most books are books that either my wife or I have used during our teaching. Others, especially the secondary books, have been recommended by friends or teachers on email lists. I hope this site helps you narrow down your choices from among the plethora of books that are out there for teachers. Please let me know of your favorite books as well as your experiences in using the books on these pages.
