Although not directly related to education I
have found TOURBUS to be a valuable Internet resource. It is a virtual tour of
the best of the Internet, delivered by e-mail to over 80,000 people in 120
countries. If you're new to the 'Net you should consider the TOURBUS required
riding.
Previous rides on the bus have taken us to:
- Urban Legends and Viruses
- Power Tools for Your PC
- Interactive Maps
- Car Buying on the Web
- The Internet Research Pointer
- Library of Congress: EXPO
- The E-mail Club
- Auction Web
- Anti-Virus Software
One of my favorite parts of the Tourbus is the
southern word of the day.
--------------------------------
TODAY'S SOUTHERN WORD OF THE DAY
--------------------------------
ARGON (noun) - Northwestern state where it rains a lot.
Usage: "You from Yurp?" "Nah ... I's from Argon."
TUBAFOR (noun). Lumber.
Usage: "Don't make me have to whomp ya upside the head with a tubafor!"
