Developmental Skill	Balance: The ability to assume and maintain a position or activity when in contact with the ground or its substitute. Affects long-term memory.
Indications of Developmental Lags	Reluctant to have training wheels removed from bike; use verbal stalling techniques; difficulty with memory work.
Indication of Classroom Developmental Lags	Raises hand to answer question, but forgets the answer; high classroom grades, but low test scores.
Activities for Developmental Growth	Walking beams or ropes on the ground; twister; playing "statue"; riding a bicycle; calisthenics or aerobics.
