Developmental Skill Spatial Awareness: The ability to work within one's own space; the ability to organize people and objects in relation to one's own body. Affects distractibility from tasks.
Indications of Developmental Lags Bumping into, spilling or being hit by things; backing away from things being thrown at him/her; changing activities without finishing; short attention span; dislikes active activities.
Indication of Classroom Developmental Lags  Unable to line up math problems, charts; handwriting inconsistent in size; careless spelling errors; uses work stoppage techniques; difficulty in completing timed activities; high classroom grades, but low test scores.
Activities for Developmental Growth Puzzles; manipulatives; obstacle courses; putting golf balls; tennis; racquetball; handball.
